Columbus, GA joins news-talk simulcast trend

WRCG-AM in Columbus, GA began an FM simulcast of its programming this week, using an obscure translator slot on the dial to do it.

You can do that where the main population's pretty concentrated. If a market has a lot of suburbs or just sprawls over a large area, a translator won't cut it. But in a place like Columbus, a translator, if it's high enough, will do the trick. Not a bad move.
